Brynford Neighborhood

Brynford is located in the northermost corner of Haverford Township. We are nestled up against the center of Bryn Mawr to the northwest and Haverford College to the northeast. While Brynford may not be the heart of the township, we are blessed with access to so very much – two lovely parks, two post offices, two train stations (on two different rail lines), a bus route, a grocery store, a day care center, a school (albeit for only one gender), a college, three (formal) places of worship, a wide range of medical facilities, a public library, a weekly farmer’s market, a skating rink, two retirement communities, a wide range of residential real estate, vibrant businesses, and so much more! We all feel so lucky to live where we live.

Neighborhood boundaries

While entirely in Haverford Township, Brynford spans portions of Haverford (19041) and Bryn Mawr (19010). Its boundaries follow the M line to the southwest; College and Railroad Avenues to the southeast; Old Buck Lane and its former extension through the Haverford School to the northeast; and County Line and Old Lancaster Roads to the northwest. The northernmost corner of Brynford is not neatly defined by neighborhoods streets, but it does include parts of Mother of Good Counsel, all of Acme, most of the CHOP facility on Lancaster Avenue, and some of the houses on Sanmarino Avenue. (Some even say we have a small corner of the Harcum College parking lot on the other side of the Paoli-Thorndale Line.)

Neighborhood character

Brynford is a largely residential neighborhood.
