This blog contains information related to Haverford Township Zoning and/or Planning issues related to properties in Brynford.

The Haverford Township Zoning Hearing Board meets the first and third Thursday of every month. Meeting agendas and meetings can be found on the Zoning Hearing Board's page. All interested parties are invited to view the live broadcast of the meeting on the Township's Government Access Channel (Verizon channel 38, Comcast channel 5). The meeting will also be available for future viewing on the Township's YouTube channel. For public comment via email, or to register for participation via Zoom, email zoning@havtwp.org.

The Haverford Township Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Thursday of every month. Meeting agendas can be found on the the Planning Commission's page.

BOC VOTES TO ALLOW PARKING ON PANMURE RD

2/13/2023

At the February 13, 2023 meeting, the Board of Commissioners voted to permit parking in the 500 block of Panmure Road between Railroad Avenue and Buck Lane. The purpose of this ordinance is to alleviate a shortage of parking at the Haverford School, which has resulted in student drivers parking on the streets of Brynford. 2022 Draft Comprehensive Plan review

The Planning Commission will be discussing the draft 2022 Comprehensive Plan at their June 9th meeting at 7PM in the Township Building. The meeting is open and all interested members of the community are encouraged to attend.

731 Old Buck Lane - Variance for Signage

731 OLD BUCK LANE - BRANDYWINE LIVING / MAIN LINE ART CENTER
The review of the application for a variance related to new signage for Brandywine Living and the Main Line Art Center will be continued at the ZHB meeting scheduled for May 19, 2022. (See earlier posts for additional information.)

If you are interested in attending this meeting, it will be held in person at the Haverford Township Building (1014 Darby Road, Havertown, PA 19083) in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at 7:30PM. The meeting is open to the general public.

All interested in watching a live broadcast of the meeting can do so on the Township's Government Access Channel (Verizon channel 38, Comcast channel 5). A complete recording of the meeting will be posted to Haverford Township's YouTube channel at a later date.

2022 comprehensive plan draft available

Have an impact on the future of Haverford Township!

A draft of the township's 2022 Comprehensive Plan is available for public review. This Comprehensive Plan is the policy document for the Township which guides planning for priorities for the coming years. (Given that the previous full Comprehensive Plan was issued 1988, this draft could prevail for several decades.)

The Brynford Civic Association will be hosting an open meeting to discuss the draft of the 2022 Comprehensive Plan and its ramifications on Brynford. In the meantime, we will be collecting questions, comments, suggestions, etc. to be addressed at the meeting. Please send any thoughts you may have to Doreen Saar or Jake Swann.

ZONING HEARING BOARD - 731 OLD BUCK LANE

731 OLD BUCK LANE - BRANDYWINE LIVING / MAIN LINE ART CENTER
A hearing related to the abovementioned property was on the agenda for the 04/21/2022 ZHB Meeting. A full recording of the meeting can be found on Haverford Township's YouTube channel.

To summarize the proceedings, the application requests permission to replace the monument sign for Brandywine Living on the right side of the entrance with a larger sign on the left side of the entrance. The new sign would be approximately 10' x 7' and would include signage for both Brandywine Living and the Main Line Art Center. In addition, a second sign would be added to direct traffic to the parking lots for the two organizations. Existing signage for both Brandywine Living and the Main Line Art Center would be removed.

The Zoning Hearing Board agreed to continue the discussion of the application at a later meeting. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN - COMMUNITY WORKSHOP

Haverford Township's Planning Commission is hosting a Community Workshop in person on September 22, 2021 at 7PM the CREC. The Workshop will be preceded by an Open House at 6PM.

A virtual Community Workshop will be held by ZOOM on September 28th at 7:30PM.

09/09/2021 The use variance application was unanimously denied by the ZHB

The case related the application for a restaurant use variance for the abovementioned property was continued at the 09/09/2021 ZHB meeting. A special public meeting has been scheduled regarding an application submitted by the Haverford Township Free Library Association related to an expansion of the existing facility at 1601 Darby Road in Havertown.
